Kenza’s Story
I didn’t expect my art to become my career, but here I am!
I lost my job as an Eating Disorder Counselor at the beginning of the COVID19 Pandemic and had to scramble to make ends meet. I have always enjoyed creating art and handmade accessories as a hobby. After an inspiring phone call with a friend, I decided to try my hand at selling my work.
I began with selling my watercolor paintings through my personal instagram account. Over the course of a few months, enough people bought my art that I decided to expand into jewelry. Once I got inspired, my creativity blossomed more than it ever had before. Now, making art and jewelry is my full time job, and KaySugars LLC is an official company!
Art is a tool in my personal recovery from grief, trauma, eating disorders, and substance abuse. It has been a dream come true to support myself doing what I love. Thank you for being part of this journey with me!

Dehydrated fruits are twice coated in resin, then laid flat to cure. If the slice of fruit is not perfectly flat, the resin can set unevenly on the back. This is common and does not affect the structural integrity of the jewelry.
